The Poetry Society of Michigan is honored to announce that Laurence W. Thomas has accepted the position of Honorary Chancellor for the Poetry Society of Michigan.
Mr. Thomas, a Michigan poet and teacher, was nominated unanimously by the PSM board to serve a two-year term.
Mr. Thomas was chosen as Chancellor after years of supporting the Poetry Society of Michigan and in appreciation for his advocacy of poetry and Michigan poets and his generous work as a mentor and teacher.
He has published several books and has taught writing at colleges and universities in Michigan, Florida, Uganda, Costa Rica, and Saudi Arabia.
Mr. Thomas has lectured on poetry at the Lucidity Poets’ Retreat in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, and is the founder of Third Wednesday, a literary arts journal. His most recent book is titled Be Not Proud, Poems of Passing.
